  • 8 bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 6 provolone cheese slices
  • 2 tomatoes medium, sliced
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
Cheese Sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
  • 0.25 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp paprika
  • 0.25 salt to taste
  • 0.25 pepper to taste
Butter Topping
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan
  • 1 saucepan

Method

Prep and assemble
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Slice the Hawaiian slider rolls in half horizontally.
  4. Place the bottom halves in the baking dish.
  5. Layer the sliced deli turkey breast evenly over the rolls.
  6. Add the tomato slices and crumbled bacon over the turkey.
  7. Top with the provolone cheese slices.
  8. In a saucepan, melt the butter and whisk in the all-purpose flour.
  9. Cook for 1 minute, whisking to form a smooth roux.
  10. Slowly whisk in the whole milk until smooth.
  11. Stir in the shredded white cheddar cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until melted and glossy.
  12. Pour half of the cheese sauce over the slider filling.
  13. Place the top buns on the sliders.
  14. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder.
  15. Brush the butter topping over the slider tops.
Bake and finish
  1. Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes, until hot through the middle.
  2. Remove the foil and bake another 8–10 minutes until the tops are golden and bubbling at the edges.
  3. Drizzle the remaining cheese sauce over the sliders while warm.
  4. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Pro tip: warm the milk slightly before whisking to help the sauce stay extra smooth. Store covered in the fridge up to 3 days; reheat in a 300°F (150°C) oven until hot. Freezing isn’t recommended for best bun texture. For a lower-fat option, swap the whole milk for 2% and use reduced-fat cheddar.
