Ingredients

For the cream cheese dip
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese softened
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar packed light
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the topping
  • 0.5 cup caramel sauce
  • 0.25 cup peanuts chopped, salted
For serving
  • 4 apples medium, crisp, cored and cut into wedges
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Equipment

  • 1 electric mixer
  • 1 8-inch shallow serving dish

Method

Make the dip
  1. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  2. Add the packed light brown sugar and vanilla extract and beat until evenly combined, scraping down the bowl as needed.
Add the topping
  1. Spread the cream cheese mixture in an 8-inch shallow serving dish, spoon the caramel sauce evenly over it, and sprinkle with the chopped salted peanuts.
Prepare the apples
  1. Just before serving, toss the apple wedges with the lemon juice and arrange them around the dip.

Notes

For the freshest, crispest apples, toss them with lemon juice just before serving. Store the covered dip in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; freezing is not recommended. For a nut-free serving, leave off the peanuts.
